Studio Calico Birthday Card

Recently, I have came across this blog - Studio Calico (http://studiocalico.typepad.com) through one of my favourite scrapbooking blog, Piradee (my idol =) and managed to see this 'Sunday Sketch' post from them. So I have thought of giving it a try by selecting one of the 3 sketches to work on my Birthday card.

Here is the sketch from SC blog by Maile Belles:-

And this is the Birthday card I have come out with by using the sketch above as my guideline.

Flower Detail:- Cut out 3 different sizes of flower pattern from SC (Yearbook Trapper Keeper) pattern paper. I have tried to cut each flower in vertical strip form to create petals and glue them down layer by layer to have a 3D look. Lastly, i also added a round 'Happy' wording brad in the middle of the flower to complete the look.

First Mini Album

This was my very first mini album that I have created for one of my college girlfriends as her wedding gift. Why I have made this mini by using the butterflies chipboard instead of other shapes? This was because my friend likes butterflies very much as I still can remember during our school days when we have our lesson at the lecture hall, she would start to draw butterflies on her notes or even on my notes if she happened to sit next to me. So can you imagine, there are how many butterflies "flying" here and there on her lecture notes. Hehehe......

Besides the butterflies concept, I have also input the ideas of using the western (white) and eastern (red) wedding colors combination in this mini. The supplies used are:
Cardstock: White & Red

Pattern Paper: Prima Marketing  (The Tropics Collection) & White Lace Paper

Embellishments: Prima Marketing Flowers, Making Memories Stickers (Cheeky Shimmer), Spotlight Wedding Stickers, Mix Brand Buttons, Robin's Nest Dew Drops (Metallic Silver), Maya Road Trinkets (Silver), Mix Brand Brads (Silver), Mix Brand Ribbon & Lace & American Crafts Thickers (Vinyl White Lettering Stickers).

Cover Page: 'Xi' traditional chinese character search from internet, print & cut out on red cardstock

I really love the overall look of this mini album. When I passed this gift to my friend, she could not believe that I have done this unique gift specially for her and told me that she loves it very much.

This is the photo that the bride (my friend) is holding the mini album on her actual wedding day.(feel so happy whenever i see this photo) :)

My Very First Blog

Wow! I cannot believe that I have finally have my own blog which I have been thinking all these years. Maybe one of the reason is that my work is too busy for me to have all kind of excuses to delay myself from creating this blog. :P

This is my very first time to write a post through a blog and I'm still exploring and learning the different tools and function bit by bit. Hopefully I can master it after sometimes.

Just give a brief introduction of my blog, I have always wanted to create an art and handicraft blog to share my scrapbooking art and ideas with everyone. I have started scrapbooking hobby since year 2009 when one of my girlfriend asked me to accompany her to take up the basic scrapbooking class at Made with Love (Plaza Singapura Shopping Mall). From that moment onwards, I was addicted with this hobby till now as I always love art and craft since I am a little kid.

So now, I am going to share one of my scrapbooking projects that I have specially created for my secondary school friend's birthday in year 2009 (Wow...3 years ago). This was my first altered project by using a photo frame bought from 'DAISO' and using other scrapbooking materials like 'MAYA ROAD' butterfly chipboard, silver trinket pins, 'AMERICAN CRAFTS' white vinyl thickers, pattern papers as well as other lovely embellishments.
